New York - (ReUterus & Ass Mess): Legendary New York District Attorney Bob Morgenthau was in feisty mood this morning outlining details of charges facing New York socialite and philanthropissed (sic) Brooke Astor's son and his various accomplices.
"This gang has been indicted on charges of exploiting Mrs Astor's diminished mental capacity to blatantly defraud her and others out of millions of dollars," Morganthau told reporters.
Brooke Astor died last summer aged 105 after grandson Philip Marshall grassed up his Pop for fleecing him out of Grandma's fabulous inheritance.
Anthony Marshall, 83, former Astor attorney Francis Morrissey, 69, and a number of accomplices - reputedly Mrs Astor's shrink, her pool man and some unnamed pest control operatives - are in the dock indicted on 16 counts relating to "bleeding dry" the late billionairess.
Charges of $150 millions worth of grand larceny, criminal possession of stolen property, forgery, conspiracy to defraud, conspiracy to falsify business records, false filing an illegal instrument and conspiracy to pervert.
The trial continues.
