(From our Washington Correspondent; Saturday 26 June) Days after publicly dumping his old poker partner and bagman of his blind trust from the top UK posting at the American Embassy, President Bush last night stunned the world by announcing that Monica Lewinsky would be replacing William "Stamps" Farish III as the new US Ambassador to the Court of St James's.
"Monica comes with all the leading attributes my administration values in an ambassador", said Bush. "She has a unique working knowledge of what it takes and can give this administation the five star service it deserves."
