Everyone knows about the plethora of Virgin Mary sightings in pretzels and Jesus spottings on burnt toast, but the discovery of the latest culinary relic might just take the cake. An image of the popular Flying Spaghetti Monster, worshipped by the Pastafarians, has been found in the "Dat's a Spicy Meatball" entre at an Italian restaurant in Montana.
When local Pastafarian, Muhammad Goldbergstein ventured into this corner bistro, he was expecting an inexpensive, no-frills, dinner in an unauthentic environment; instead, he found salvation.
"From the moment the waiter brought out the plate," Goldbergstein remembers, "I knew that there was something special, even holy about the food that was to be set before me. As I was about to bite down, I stopped and dropped my fork. How could I eat my savior, that's just preposterous!"
Eager Pastafarians and other curious relic spotters have been funneling into this small town for weeks eager to catch a glimpse of the sacred icon or perhaps even absorb some of its healing power. The proprietor of the restaurant is expected to follow pattern and sell this hallowed artifact on eBay.
