In Flint, Michigan, two people (an assistant to the mayor and a local activist) accused City Councilwoman Jackie Popular of assault following a rancorous council meeting.
Ms. Popular allegedly sprayed the pair with a can, proclaiming, "Pests! We need to get rid of these pests!"
"No one came to our rescue", stated mayor assistant John Pierre Roach.
"They just laughed at us lying there on the floor with our feet and arms up in the air", stated Barbara Granddaddy. "Let me tell you, I almost didn't make it."
"Finally someone gave us some water and we both scurried off to the emergency room at the Medical Center."
