It was reported that President Bush was visited by the ghost of Herbert Hoover after he and the first lady finished watching the tonight show earlier this evening.
Bush told reporters that the ghost had identified itself as the spirit of Herbert Hoover and wore the characteristic three-piece seersucker suit popular in the 1920's and 30's.
Looking understandably disheveled having wandered the spirit world for the past 44 years with a large chain and gargantuan locks, he was reported foreshadowing his appearance to the president by ringing bells and projecting its image over a painting of Alan Greenspan in the presidential sitting room and warned the president that he would be haunted by three ghosts later in the evening.
After being invited to sit down, the ghost was reported to have asked the president, "Do you not believe your senses?" After which the president blamed the ghost sighting on bad food.
Analysts say that the ghost came to warn the president of a looming economic crisis and great depression.
The ghost's advice was shrugged off by an indolent president with a smirk and the words, "Humvee!"
