Louisiana - (Ass Mess): The sartorial police and Delcambre's Mayor Carol Broussard have come together to outlaw that ultimate offense to human dignity, the low-slung trousers.
In proposals released today wearing saggy-baggy low slung trousers that show underwear will become a criminal offense pubishable by a $500 fine and up to six months in jail.
Brossard's hard-man act has the citizens of Delcambre quaking in theri boots as he told a press conference today that: "Them folks is better off taking their pants down and just wearing a dress."
But the Mayor's cross-dressing solution to the droopy-drawers wearers may be a step too radical given that many of the town's police officers and municipal officials have let their own sartorial standards slip in recent years and would be hard to persuade into a frock.
Now the town's attorney Ted Ayo has confirmed that: "This is a new ordinance that deals specifically with sagging pants which are a distasteful sight to upstanding citizens."
"When this passes into the local statue book we anticipate a ripple-effect all the way to the White House.
"There's some in there who could do with oulling their own pants up a tad, especially in time foe the next election."
