Washington - (Ass Press): The Republican Party is wooing a new contender for the 2008 presidential campaign after exhaustive market research proved positive in identifying Judge Larry Seidlin as the outsider most likely to get the compassion vote from Middle America.
Not much is known about Judge Sedlin's political leanings or ambitions. But his ratings were so excellent during the televised Anna Nicole Smith funeral rights hearing that no other potential contender can rival his scores.
The Judge's behavior was perceived as decent, law abiding, empathic and above all credible to the millions of voters who watched the court hearings.
Any dramatic overtones in his conduct, such as weeping, hugging and general schmooze of witnesses, have merely confirmed Republicans' image consultants that here is the right man with the right blend of soft but strong.
As we go to press, a statement from Seidlin's public relations agency is expected within hours.
