Some reports say he is a highly inventive lothario who managed to seduce some 1000 women during a cold snap during the winter before making off with his conquest mementoes.
Less flattering stories say he worked at a laundromat and stole out of boredom before parading his swag to envious pals.
Photographs of him modelling some of the garments appeared on a website leading to a police sting that finally nailed him. Two women officers then posed as lonesome twosome enthusiasts and easily lured him with satelitte-bugged brassieres.
Flaherty expressed astonishement when nicked.
