Seattle 3/12 - Local pizza delivery driver Trent Jones doubled the value of his 1988 Yugo when, through a mistake at the pump, he used premium gasoline to fill the tank.
"The new gas pumps at the AM-PM are so confusing. They ask you to press the button for payment, which is right next to the selection for octane ratings." Jones bemoaned, "With the difference in price, I'm out an extra two dollars filling this baby!"
The addition of the high-octane fuel effectively doubled the value of the car while eliminating an annoying knocking nose while accelerating.
Though he sites increased performance, Jones has no plans to continue the use of the premium fuel. "I can't afford it with my pay," Jones said, "and, I mean, what's next, a pine-tree air freshener?"
