Montpelier Vermont: In a speech to save the nations wet lands, entertainer Kermit The Frog announced that he will back former Vermont Governor Howard Dean's bid for the 2004 Democratic nomination.
"We need a candidate who is not just green to Washington, but who is from the green mountain state to eliminate the threat to the environment that George Bush poses."
Mr. The Frog went on to cite that nearly 25% of frogs in the United States live near a contaminated superfund cite and have suffered even more as a result of the President's environmental mismanagment.
Mr. The Frog's endorsement comes as a surprise to many voters. Although he is a well known advocate of the environment, gay marriage, and the swine related issues, many of those polled associate Mr. The Frog with the Green Party Championed by Ralph Nader.
When asked about his own political aspirations Mr. The Frog commented that he has ruled out running for the White House himself, but would investigate any serious offers to run as a Vice Presidential candidate.
