Hackensack, NJ - An office employee was immediately terminated for sitting on his standing desk. His employer requires any employee who demands a standing desk to stand at all times.
"You can either sit or stand, but not both," reported the employee's supervisor during the termination meeting.
Standing desks, popular among Millennials, are sprouting up in offices everywhere. But at $3,000 a desk, employers are showing little tolerance for an employee who then "sits on the job."
The fired employee argued his case for reinstatement on Facebook. "My shoulders started to hurt, a lot."
The office is now empty but the decision and desk still stands.
