A survey of U.S. vacation cruise visitors to the picturesque State of Gibraltar shows that 95% of travelers would holiday in Gibraltar rather than in the once popular Spain or even the "millionaire's playground" of Monaco.
This surprising result reveals that Spain is slipping down the ranks of popular destinations for Americans doing the "European Tour". Many U.S. visitors have been put off by viewing at first hand the heavy handed Spanish attitude to petty disputes and the semi military approach of the Police Guardia.
To many American Vacationers Spain is altogether too much like their poverty and crime ridden neighbor Mexico without the much liked Mexican food. Spanish food can seem bland compared with for instance the popular "Tex-Mex" cuisine. Spain has not really embraced the hot chili pepper like Mexico or even mainland Europe has, instead sticking to the indigenous Paella culture (fish pudding). Unusually, Spanish people do not use cuttlefish for the bottom of their parrots' cages, but put it into Paellas. By comparison Gibraltar sports a kaleidoscope of international cuisine with several Michelin Starred Restaurants.
