Bernice Eccles, the diminutive Ladies Formula One boss is adamant that the race will go ahead in Gibraltar on December 1st. Bernice, fresh from victory in a French court case has fought for seven years to hold the race around the cordoned off "Round the Rock" circuit.
After long, tense negotiations agreement has been reached on sponsorship, television rights and safety issues and preparations are to begin immediately. The Association of women Formula One Drivers are happy with the proposed course which will be televised live in December.
Ms. Eccles told our reporter,"If Monaco can successfully do it, so can we in the British State of Gibraltar. An extension will have to be routed through the airport and on a proposed fifty square miles of reclaimed sea which will be protected by the Royal Navy on the Spanish side of the "disputed Isthmus Area".
