NEW YORK CITY - There is a widespread movement in the city of New York to honor the late president of South Africa Nelson Mandela by naming Central Park in his honor.
Several council members have asked that the mayor consider making the necessary arrangements to make the name change.
The Nelson Mandela family has already been told about the name change and they are thrilled beyond belief.
Nelson Mandela's great grandson who works as a stand up comedian using the name Camel Face said that he would be willing to fly from South Africa to New York City and entertain the crowd during the dedication ceremonies.
Barbra Streisand, Celine Dion, and Ke$ha have all said that they would love to sing at the event which would be televised on ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, and the History Channel.
SIDENOTE: An attorney for the city of New York is looking into the legal aspects of the name change including the cost of replacing all of the signs.
