Reaching around to New York Politics for a comedy star, the producers of the academy awards announced Friday that Carlos Danger would host the annual ceremony next year.
The producers, Ben Dover and Anita Mandalay, caused some backlash last year after giving the job to Seth MacFarlane, the creator of "Family Guy" on Fox. MacFarlane received some harsh reviews for his crude humor. But ratings were up, especially among younger viewers. "If crude is what our audience demands, then Carlos Danger will surely deliver", Dover added.
Carlos Danger has even less to do with the movie business than MacFarlane does (his movie "Ted" preceded his appearance) but Danger is well liked by Hollywood types.
In typical fashion, he released a full-frontal nudity tweet in response to the honor: "I am so excited to be hosting, I think I'll bring my little friend."
Next year's ceremony will take place on March 2.
