GAY, GA--- Presumptive Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney was in this small city -- population 5000-- to receive the 'Key to the City'. Gay is the only city, manufacturing 'Made in America' collectible silver spoons. "They are sold in souvenir shops and theme parks throughout the United States," said councilman, Jay Silverheels.
Mayor Buddy 'Teeter' Tot in presenting the 'Key to the City' to Governor Romney, proclaimed:
"Governor Romney, it is as a result of your coming out during the Republican Primary campaign, that President Obama was able to increase awareness and exploit your connection to silver spoons .It is, as a result of this awareness, that silver spoon sales have tripled, along with jobs here in Gay, Georgia. Thank you, on behalf of all Gays in making the Gay community prosper once again."
Governor Romney in his acceptance speech, said, "I am humbled and appreciative to receive the 'Key to the City' of Gay, today I am Gay and proud to be one of you all."
"Let me just add, that this President simply doesn't get it, its private industry not government jobs that are responsible for economic growth in the United States. I doubt if you'll find anything like a Gay model in China and I'll tell ya, if there was one, don't you think we would have seen it by now instead of being locked up in some bureaucrat's closet."
"I want to thank all of you Gays for this recognition and ask that you vote for me in November to become the first Gay president honored in the "Peach State" of Georgia."
