"We continue to use all means possible to attempt to communicate with the Amish rebels."

Keokuk,Iowa-The State Department has warned American citizens against travelling in Iowa after Amish rebels kidnapped an American tourist there.

Bicyclist Howard Johnson was captured over the weekend after straying into rebel territory while bicycling through what he thought was Illinois. He has yet to be heard from and officials are concerned for his safety.

"At this point we're not even sure whether Mr. Johnson is still alive." Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton said during a press conference. "In the past Amish rebels have treated hostages with contempt, forcing them to wear modest clothing and denounce their heathen ways." adding "We continue to use all means possible in an attempt to communicate with the rebels."

People inside Iowa report the situation as being "tense".
