Governor Rick Perry returned to Texas this morning to host a cocktail party in honor of the latest execution in the state prison. Hot off the campaign trail and beaming with pride, he spoke briefly on landing at the airport:
"I am here to celebrate another good day for the citizens of Texas. This proves that if you come to Texas and are accused of a crime, you will pay the ultimate price whether you are guilty or not!"
The crowd roared, Perry gave them a thumbs up and trotted to his waiting limousine.
Later today, Perry will host a cocktail party at the Governor's mansion at the time of the execution and then attend a "Kill Baby Kill," rally on the steps of the capitol building.
Tomorrow, before he leaves for the campaign trail, Perry will introduce legislation in the state legislature to sterilize all non-Christians of child bearing age in the state.
"This proves, said Perry, "that if you come to the state of Texas and you aint right, we're gonna make you right!"
He paused and added, "As God is my judge!"
