Birmingham City Council have tonight issued a statement saying that they are banning the sale of Meerkat Carpets.
They say it is an outrage that the wool of the furry little creatures has been used in such a way. They also said they will be banning Meerkat socks and Meerkat jumpers.
The Council is also investigating claims that some Kebab shops have been found to be selling Meerkat Kebabs. Apparently they taste fantastic.
But as of today, they are no more. The days of the ill treatment of Meerkats is over. Comparing Meerkats is also about to come to an end. The annual Meerkat beauty competition has been banned too.
The world is now a safer place for Meerkats and they will never be eaten or compared again.
