Moody Mandy had a lovely time on holiday with her chums. Writing nasty stories and hurting animals by treading on their heads as they squirmed and then died.
But coming back to the realities of life left Mandy in a foul mood. Her favourite story had always been 'Milly Molly Mandy' because it was so like her own life where her favourite friends were just like Billy Blunt and Little Friend Susan. Except her bosom friends were Johnny Prescott - nicknamed 'The Lord' because of his family tree -and Little Chum Cherie, who Mandy secretly loved, although she knew girls couldn't love each other too obviously. Anyway Cherie loved a rich boy who everyone, but her, disliked.
Mandy felt the story should really be Milly Milly Mandy because Millybad and Millygood were the two contestants for her hand at the forthcoming Ball. Millybad was no good because he wanted to change things from the good old days when Mandy was in an exciting threesome with Toni and Brownie. However Millygood was more like a headmaster with his authority and friendship with Toni and Brownie, except he had always been jealous of both of them.
Mandy loved to mess up other people's plans and if she could do something unpleasant she would. It quickened her pulse, which seemed to be dying out completly at times.
So as Mandy slithered back into her cave to spend time with creatures that loved the dark she felt pleased with herself. 'Everyone was looking at me' she thought happily.
