In the lead-up to the announcement of the National Budget, Number 11 has made the revelation that the Chancellor of the Exchequer, Alistair Darling, is merely the human host of a higher being.
'Alistair was a perfect host for us', said Mr. Darling, 'A human male of weak will, limited intelligence and amusing facial features'
The beings took the form of eyebrows, finally explaining why Darling's eyebrows are a different colour to the rest of his hair. Upon further questioning, the beings chose eyebrows as the positioning provides a direct link to the brain, allowing maximum control over the host being.
'Even in a being as weak as Darling, it is important to be in the position of maximum control, as sudden loss of control can cause a spectacular crash, often in the host's field of work. In fact, we did lose control late last year after a late night out, but I don't think anyone noticed.'
