Geoff Hoon the Secretary of State for Transport was forced to apologise to the house this morning after a disastrous mix up in a secret Government laboratory in Croydon.

Due to a spelling error by a junior staff member the Human Genome Cloning project has now descended into chaos.

"A scientist speaking on condition of anonymity told us that they'd created thousands of Human Gnome Cones" which had managed to escape when he'd gone to the Ice cream van outside for a '99 and an Oyster for the lady on reception.

Police and councils are trying to round up the cone shaped creatures complete with little fishing rods and large feet before they could get to the motorways where they would begin to breed and bring traffic to a halt.
