Ibrox Stadium, Glasgow. - On Saturday, 28th February, 2009, the blessing of Barack Obama's new presidency by Pope Benedict XVI will be transmitted live to giant TV screens direct from the Scotland vs Italy six nations rugby fixture at Murrayfield.
In attendance will be chairman of the board of governors, Sir David Murray; his wife "Minty" and the Gers Director of Football, Walt' Smith.
The "big screen" televised blessing will occur just after the Holy Father's audience at Hampden Park where Hoops chairman Dr. John Reid MP refused to hold the above ceremony, on the pitch, at Celtic SFC.
Reid said "there was know way that the hallowed turf at Hampden would be tarnished by an American black or German Hun, ever!"
In the evening following the blessing of Obama, a dinner celebration with members of the board of governors will be held at Bar 72 in the Govan Stand with His Eminence Paul "Gazza" Gascoigne, Chief Executive Bain and Assistant Manager Ally McCoist among the distinguished guests.
When questioned about his invite to the event Gascoigne was quoted as saying "I shall be doing my usual party piece for His Holiness by playing the flute in my brand new whistle and flute"!
