Prince Phillip was today embroiled in yet another "royal gaff" when he was overheard to describe the North of England as a "pisshole".
The outspoken 82-year-old was talking at a private dinner to Jaswinder Singh, Sikh Council leader, totally unaware that there was a recording device hidden in a floral arrangement.
The Royal Family, already reeling from the "Sootygate" and "Pakigate" blunders, will be quick to try to mend the damage from this latest "slip of the brain" by its patriarch.

It is not clear which areas or towns the Prince was referring to when he said "Of course the economy is buggered, just look at the North. Bloody scum in tracksuits and council houses, all claiming benefits, some of them never done a day's work - and who's supporting them? The South, that's who." At that point (probably luckily) the recording cuts off.
Council leaders and Government Ministers were quick to distance themselves from Phillip's comments, which are sure to start a storm of protests up and down the land - but mostly in the North.
