Police get ready to shoot somebody for charity

When a disabled person is given a good kicking by half a dozen uniformed members of the Metropolitan Police, arrested and shoved into the back of a van for doing nothing, one might wonder where's the news story. When that disabled person is the former Home Secretary, the media takes interest. However, this was a perfectly friendly beating by the boys in blue.

Blunkett, the blind bloke who insisted we should all carry identity cards, chuckled loudly as he was given a sound drubbing on the ground, and was even heard saying "Get that left rib" and "I can still feel my right leg, you pussies". The whole thing was a publicity stunt to raise money for some charitable cause. Exactly how the money was to be raised was not clear but that didn't matter, as Londoners watching on were cheering and egging the bobbies on.

Commissioner of Police Sir Ian Blair, who lives in a tower in Scotland Yard, initially denied that the event had happened, then, hours later, issued a further statement saying that "a bearded man with a funny accent, who was probably a terrorist, was apprehended and taken into police custody". Blunkett has a Sheffield accent, which is close to the Leeds and Bradford accents that most terrorists have.

Once taken to the police station, Blunkett was given a phone call, which he used to call somebody else's wife, who later collected him.

Civil rights dweebs have condemned the stunt as glorifying police brutality, while many male politicians have been busy shaving their beards. One Labour backbencher, who spent 2 weeks on holiday in Brazil and has a nice tan, has reportedly checked into a clinic for cosmetic surgery.

Meanwhile, no-one was able to identify the charity that was supposed to be receiving the money, though the police did appear to have a very loud party that night at New Scotland Yard.
