In a shock confrontation early today, the Harry Potter co-star, Emma Watson, was totally snubbed by former pop star Gary Glitter.
Emma, whose mum and dad used to disco dance to Glitter classics such as "Hello Hello I'm Back Again", "I'm the Leader of the Gang" and the quite inappropriate "Do You Wanna Touch Me? (Where?...There!...)" wanted to offer Glitter the hand of friendship at this time of his total adversity.
She said:
"Just because he became overly friendly with some rather young ladies, I didn't feel that the whole world should now be against him. I really felt sorry for Gaz, as I now call him - actually, if he'd been over friendly with young boys, I would have called him Camping Gaz.
"Anyway, it's a very common thing for dirty old men to do, to become over friendly with young girls that is. Especially if they have loads of money - Gaz, not the girls that is. Has the money.
"My mum and dad always reminisced about dancing to his old hits, as well as those of other 70's giants such as Mud, Suzi Quatro, Slade and Motorhead.
"I really felt sorry for him, and I thought I'd break with convention as well as gain some hard-core publicity in magazines such as OK, Hello and Exchange and Mart by befriending him, but he just snubbed me and walked off in a huff.
"From what I can gather, it seems that at 18, I'm far too old for him."
