Following the shock revelations of the massive security breach caused by the 'loss' of data discs by the Department of Revenue & Customs, Gordon Brown admitted tonight that further discs were either lost or mislaid last week.
'I have to admit that there have been other failures with regard to the security of discs,' he announced.
'My wife and I keep a small record player in our private flat at Number 10 and I have to say that three discs evidently went missing sometime last week. They are all 33rpm extended play EPs.'
The discs in question are as follows:-
- JIMMY SHAND & HIS BAND: Traditional Scottish Jigs Vol II
- MOIRA ANDERSON: Crofters Laments & Love Songs
- KENNETH McKELLAR: Live At The Sands - Las Vegas
The disc covers are all embossed with Mr Brown's name and the Downing Street crest. If anyone comes across these discs, either at a boot sale or perhaps at a Revenue & Customs Post Room, they are urged to hand them in to police straight away.
