Despite blistering attacks on the Government's proposed Home Information Pack regulations local government minister Ruth Kelly demonstrated remarkable fortitude in the House of Commons yesterday.
HIPs have drawn condemnation from a wide range of bodies and a group of opposition MPs have joined with the Building Societies Association and the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors to call on the Government to scrap their plans.
They claim HIPs are a needless and expensive layer of red tape which will only bring chaos to an already inflated house price market and do nothing to speed up the conveyancing process.
Standing up in the House to reply to her critics Kelly said "Bovvered? Am I bovvered? Do I look bovvered?"
