City Hole, London - (Rotters): Undeterred by regulations that prevent him from seeking a third term in office as a Labour Party Mayor of London in the 2008 elections, Ken Livingstone is to take up Tory Leader David Cameron's stroke of genius policy of encouraging non-party members to stand for election under the Conservative ticket by running as a New Tory contender and thus ensuring he is still Mayor for the 2012 London Olympic Games.
Livingstone has not explained yet how he plans to sell the idea to London voters. And it might take some convincing.
But the idea is entirely legit and might just prove a winner in the current political climate where the only certain electoral contenders for next year's fiasco are David Blunkett's dog Sadie (Labour), last year's dead Thames whale (Conservative), Jade Goody (BNP) and Heather Mills (Monster Raving Loony Party).
Reports that Livingstone's proposed campaign may be eligible for a General Pinochet Memorial Grant have yet to be confirmed.
