The late Great Train Robber, Ronnie Biggs is to be given a 200 metre high "Christ the Redeemer" type gold memorial statue on a mountain in the Costa del Sol.
It will be funded by tabloid newspapers, train robbers and paparazi. Biggs who has topped the unofficial "expected to die this year" list for three years has cult status among petty criminals and some East End "faces".
Much to the annoyance of the Establishment, Biggs led the police on a merry dance and enjoyed many years freedom in Brazil, allegedly fathering hundreds of children after escaping from prison. Many police will, however remain grateful for all the trips to Brazil and overtime that was necessary to try to capture him.
