Cruise ship Lib Dem Discordia, now lying off the coast of Scotland - having overturned in a misadventure - is hopefully to be put back on an even keel in a major salvage operation starting today.
Whilst these efforts are being made to roll the ship over - a process made perilous should a cable break loose - the vessel's Captain Nico Clegatelli, still deludedly denying any personal responsibility for the disaster, faces a forthcoming trial. After this he is expected to depart to the backwaters of maritime history.
The Lib Dem Discordia , clearly damaged beyond repair, will be towed away and destroyed. It is hoped that the remains of the vessel will be sold for scrap.
