The Olympic torch

Athens, Greece. The Olympic torch was ignited here today and the epic journey to London was initiated, however, it was no sooner on the Greek bye ways when a gang of Romany gypsies way laid one of the torch bearers, kidnapping him and his sacred flaming vessel. The gypsies eluded the long arm of the Athens Police and some reports have them and their quarry presently beyond the national borders.

The kidnapping itself was captured on a tourist's iPhone and Police are staggered at how quickly the runner and his torch were dispatched from the main convoy. It is believed that about three gypsies were involved in the kidnapping and that they were disguised as Greek goat herders. Strangely, the torch bearer's name is unknown as he did not formally give his full details to organisers. Indeed, he may not be ruled out as a party to the dastardly act.

Interpol have been alerted and they will seek to track down these good for nothing individuals. Failing this, the next action could be contacting Iron Man, Captain America, Hulk and co.

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
