Trouble in the Ricky Hatton camp today ahead of his light-welterweight bout with Manny Pacquiao in Las Vegas tomorrow, with the Manchester boxer objecting to the start time of the fight.
The fight, at the MGM Grand, is scheduled to start at 04:00 GMT, but an animated Hatton said:
"Who the fuckin 'ell organises a bout in the middle of the night. Fuck me! I need me beauty sleep, y'know!"
His trainer Floyd Mayweather Snr tried to explain to Hatton that the world was big and round, and that, just because it was 4 o'clock in the morning in England, that didn't mean to say that it was 4 o'clock everywhere, and especially Las Vegas.
Said Mayweather Snr:
"Ricky went to school, but not very often. He has a boxer's view of science, and didn't realise about the curvature of the Earth and time zones. He's not that bright."
