Southampton F.C. are rumoured to have made a £750k bid to re-sign full back Thom King from Winchester City. The 20 year old who can also play at centre-back has been targeted after the club recently lost Alex Pearce to Reading and Jack Cork to Watford.
Saints manager Portlievielt had this to say about the rumours.
"We have made a bid for Thom King and hope to beat the likes of Manchester United, Liverpool and AC Milan to his signature. He will bring great qualities to the team and we hope to have him on board in time for our next league match."
This should come as good news to Saints fans who have had to endure relegation battles in the last two seasons.
King is expected to agree terms in the next 48 hours should he pass a medical.
