The Rangers think Nolan Ryan can still throw the fastball

Nolan Ryan owns the major league baseball record with seven no-hitters. He also won over 300 games and pitched in 27 different seasons, five of them for the Texas Rangers. He announced today that he is coming out of retirement to lead the Rangers as team president.

When asked why they wanted the 60+ year old player to fill a position where he has no experience, team spokesman Jack Gonzalez was confident. "Nolan is a winner. He is a winner at whatever he does. We have had player/coaches in the past and we see Nolan stepping in as a player/president."

"Since everyone else in the league was mentioned in the steroids report, the only guys we have who can play this upcoming season are either the old men or the little leaguers. We think Ryan still has the goods to strike out those thirteen year olds (even the seventeen year old Puerto Rican thirteen year olds)!"

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
