The ceremony's artistic director, Danny Boyle, revealed the name at a press briefing alongside crisp salesman Gary Lineker.
Boyle, who is best known for directing Oscar-winning movie Slumdog Millionaire and Trainspotting, said: "we'll be celebrating the whole of the country". Gary Linkeker added "there are so many great flavours".

Other names in the frame were Slumdog East Londoner, and Thiefspotting, but in the end, the name was chosen after sponsors stepped in with a substantial wad of cash and a lifetime supply of their product for the committee members responsible for the decision.
Adverts for the Wonder of Golden will be hitting tv screens in weeks leading upto the Games, starring Mr Lineker stealing a bag of crisps from 100 metre world record holder Usain Bolt, who is then unable to catch Mr Lineker.
