The Internet Update Company (IUC) have announced that Web 2.1 is ready to be released. The bespectacled nerdy president of the company, Bill Doors, explained the new technology and the its planned roll-out.
He told us: "First we had the Internet, that was Web 1.0. Then we released Web 2.0 a couple of years ago. And now we're ready to release Web 2.1.
"The whole internet will be down for a few hours this weekend to allow us to make the upgrade but we're sure it'll be worth it. Everyone should prepare their computers for Web 2.1 - by rebooting them."
The main features of Web 2.1 include:
- more funny cat pictures
- more websites allowing people to annoy their friends with status updates
- more, better porn
Unfortunately there will be a small decrease in the quality of spoof websites, but it is hoped this will be remedied when Web 3.0 is released next year.
