History will need to be re-written following this year's discoveries;

Channel 4's Time team have been recently excavating the ancient site of Agincourt in France. Digging to a depth of 10 metres, archeologists found arrowheads and traces of chain mail armour; then at the depth of 100 metres, remnants of copper wire dating back some 600 years were unearthed. Tony Robinson came to the conclusion that the English had a telephone network centuries ago that allowed spies to direct Henry V's archers to the precise location of the French Knights.

Mr Robinson said: "I am absolutely amazed at the ingenuity of battlefield technology and once again, Britain has been at the cutting-edge. History proves that."

However, not to be outdone by the English, French scientists dug up the beach at Hastings to a depth of 200 metres. Shortly thereafter headlines in the French newspapers read: "French archeologists find secret of their success in defeating King Harold at Hastings." They have found traces of 1,000-year-old fibre-optic cable which is believed to be the earliest advanced high-tech digital communications network ever found.

Naturally, the English have accused the French of 'fighting dirty' by having a means directing 'Froggy Beauxmen' to King Harold some 300 years earlier than the English. The French simply said that the English obviously copied them! The English strongly deny this!

Just one week later, in a shocking announcement, Israeli newspapers reported the following: "After digging as deep as 500 metres in a Jerusalem marketplace, scientists found absolutely nothing. They thus concluded that 5,000 years ago Jews were using wireless technology.

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
