A spokesman for the International Mirror's Union (IMU) today gave a sly wink when asked about the urban legend that mirrors never lie.
"Well mostly we don't lie but all work and no play gets dull quickly. Its very hard to resist the temptation of adding a bit of red to the eyes of the person looking into us or maybe thickening the eyebrows a little and of course adding in an extra long nose hair that's not really there."
Ironically Funhouse Mirrors have been the most vocal group that has been appalled by this breaking news. "We are upfront about distorting people's images, if you can't trust the flat mirrors then who can you trust? Why are they trying to weasel their way into our territory?"
Just remember that the next time you look into a mirror there is a 10% chance that your face looks like something that a funhouse mirror would be appalled by.
