Microsoft plans a new release of Windows this coming February 2, 2013 that makes the well-renowned operating system a bit easier for flash drive users.
The new version has codename NEIN AUTORUN, meaning that autorun prompts won't launch everytime a flash drive, pen drive and other similar devices will be connected to the computer.
According to their press release, this is to prevent autorun.inf viruses from spreading on flash drives.
However, the concept of the new version received negative comments from software developers. "It can be hard to install quickly, and most users are used to opening files by AutoPlay," stated an antivirus developer who wishes to remain anonymous.
