This caravan escaped being swept away, on account of being in San Antonio

Selma and Cedric Seeward, a couple from Dorking, took a caravanning holiday to Truro. All was going well, if a bit wet, when the caravan park was hit by six inches of rain in one hour, bursting the banks of the local river.

"There was quite a lot of rain," said Selma. "Wasn't there Cedric?"

"There was quite a lot of rain," Cedric confirmed.

As the pair watched from the caravan window, they saw the other caravans in the park get swept away.

"We saw a few caravans go past before we started getting worried," said Selma.

"We were worried," added Cedric.

At this point, Cedric and Selma joined the procession of caravans, a caravan of caravans.

"We could feel the caravan floating," said Selma. "I'm no sure that they are designed for floating. We were quite surprised "

"Quite surprised," interjected Cedric.

"We were suddenly on a boating holiday," finished Selma.

The pension-age pair, oddly, didn't mind floating down the river towards the English channel.

"We didn't mind, did we Cedric?" said Selma.

"No, we didn't mind," Cedric said.

"We actually wanted to go on a boating holiday," Selma said. "But we couldn't afford it."

"They were too expensive," Cedric explained.

"So we had a caravan holiday instead," Selma said sadly.

So to get a caravan holiday, and then a boating holiday on top of it has pleased the Seewards, although they had to be rescued by the coastguard while they were seven miles across the channel.

"We could see Jersey," Selma explained.

"We couldn't," Cedric contradicted.

The pair feel that it has been the best holiday ever, what with a free boat trip, a free helicopter ride, and then the best news ever.

"The caravan park were very sorry," said Selma.

"They refunded all our money," said Cedric. "Result!"

The story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
