Today saw the finish of the Joe Perry v Stephen Maguire match - which I have tenuously linked to Jerry Maguire - as in Perry Maguire - geddit? No-one said writing a daily snooker blog would be easy.
With foresight, I should have linked this match to yesterdays (Day 8) marriage proposal at the Crucible by Brian Wright to Lisa Dunks. "You had me at hello..."
Theirs no Tom Cruise in the arena today, but it's Mission Impossible for Perry - beaten by Maguire 13-7.
Also on the way back home - a slow boat to China perhaps? - is Cao Yupeng - a relief for me as I can just about type it let alone pronounce it. He was beaten by Ryan Day. That's easy to spell. Even someone from TOWIE* could spell that correctly.
