John at last breathed in the sweet air of freedom. He was just released from prison. After 20 years for robbery, he was finally going to see Mary and marry her. He was going to go straight. He had already done "time" twice in his career, one for robbery and the other for manslaughter and he knew that
if he ever got convicted of a crime again, it would be for "life" ---- forever.
So, as he left Sing-Sing he was hurrying down the street trying to catch sight of Mary ---- and he did. There she was! He walked faster... and faster. He started to run to her. Her arms were open; ready to embrace him.
And then it happened! He tripped and crashed hard on his patella. You could hear the bone crunch a block away.
John yelled in pain.
Mary screamed in anguish. "Call 911," she cried out.
But instead of an ambulance, out came a police paddy-wagon and a couple of cops handcuffed poor John as he was grabbing his leg. And in short order, they threw him in the back of the police paddy-wagon and began driving back to Sing-Sing.
Mary screamed out, "But why? Why back to prison?"
The cop in the back of the paddy-wagon yelled back, "Fell-On-Knee."
