Mother: Tonight I will tell you a true story about an honest man named Bookanakere Siddalingappa Yeddyurappa. People affectionately call him Yeddyurappa. He is the benign ruler of Karnataka. He is known for being impartial and unbiased.

Kid: What is impartiality?

Mother: Impartiality is when a person spends on both a population of larger than 5 crores and his relatives equally and without any favoritism.

Kid: But wouldn't it be called nepotism?

Mother: No. You don't understand. It is for the greater good.

Kid: What greater good?

Mother: He is a sixty-eight year old, responsible father and whatever he did was to help his son and relatives. Just like your father wants to ensure that you have a bright future. Moreover you have no idea how corrupt the previous chief ministers were.

Kid: Who said that?

Mother: Yeddyurappa himself said that, son. And a fellow named Nitin Gadkari who is the president of BJP supported him saying that lesser damage is always better.

Kid: What exactly did Yeddyurappa do?

Mother: Ah! Nothing. He just de-notified some land which was under government so that it can be transferred in the name of his loved ones.

Kid: Isn't that unconstitutional?

Mother: No, not at all. A chief minister has every power to do that. It was just a wee bit immoral. But that's okay. After all it was for the greater good.

Kid: Did no one criticize Yeddyurappa?

Mother: Oh boy! You have no idea how his own Governor backstabbed him and demanded his resignation.

Kid: So did he resign?

Mother: Are you mad? Honest men fight till the end. He is planning a mammoth rally on February 20 on his completion of 1,000 days in office. It will show his vicious enemies that he hasn't given up. Karnataka's BJP chief KS Eshwarappa has said that the rally cannot be viewed as a preparation for mid-term assembly election, but for the polls that's due in 2013.

Kid: Mom, how did he defend himself among all allegations?

Mother: Yeddyurappa always had MLAs with high morals and values to support him. He won the trust votes in a gap of three days. In addition to this he opened a new kind of game show which announces prize money worth five crores to anyone who proves him guilty of ill-gotten property that too in cash. He is the quintessence of audacity.

Kid: But mom, if there is so much of opposition don't you think it is very shameful of him not to resign?

Mother: You don't understand child. It is for the greater good.

The story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
