Plot
Jack was last seen slipping beneath the waves at the end of the first film. However, in the sequel, it would be revealed that Jack washed up on an iceberg where he survived for two weeks. After being picked up by a fishing boat and taken (finally) to America, Jack sets off to find Rose and have a final showdown with Cal...
Why it wasn't made
Leonardo DiCaprio was busy filming The Beach and claimed to be, "sick of water and stuff." Also executives were uneasy with the films comedic moments and proposed, "end musical number."
Saving Private Ryan 2
Plot
The sequel was to follow Private Ryan on his return home and back to normal life. Young James Ryan married, had a few kids and a dog and cooked apple pies for a living.
Why it wasn't made
Matt Damon panned the script. Critics panned the script. Even supporters panned the script. It was decided that Private Ryan's job interview at a bakery wouldn't be intense enough to capture the audience after Omaha Beach.
Gladiator 2
Plot
Gladiator would be reincarnated in the twenty first century and get stuck working in Las Vegas for an evil boss played by Joaquin Phoneix. He would attempt to meet a man called "Doc" to take him back to his own time.
Why it wasn't made
Russel Crowe was reported to be "very excited" by the script. Sadly the director dropped the only copy down a lavatory and the film was never re-written. It is alleged that the original script infringed on, "Back to the future" copy write anyway.
