Jimmy Buffet, pirate singer and sea lover extraordinaire, has re-penned a new song about his beloved home port in keeping up with the times. The admired king of the Parrotheads realized that the old songs about his native Gulf of Mexico were no longer valid in light of recent changes there and has modernized his most famous signature song Margaritaville:
(To the tune of Margaritaville)
Walking up through the high tide
getting messed up by the black slime,
everywhere you look is oil grime
the way the shore looks is really a crime.
Fell into a tar pit
that smelled just old sh__
Now I can spend at least an hour
trying to clean it off in the shower.
(Chorus)
Wadin' again the beach at Biloxi
Watchin' the seabirds trying to get free
Some people say to blame is BP
but I know, its the whole industry.
My boat is total stuck
way deep in this black muck,
I need a ton of degreaser
so that I can release her.
But I ain't no damn fool,
now when I need fuel
I shovel in some of the sea
why pay when I can get it for free?
(Chorus)
Wadin' again the beach at Biloxi
watchin' the seabirds trying to get free
Some people say to blame is BP
but I know, its the whole damned industry.
