Bankers for starters, Politicians for Main, and for desert?

Funny story written by Jimarillo

Friday, 26 June 2009

The power hungry British public has gone though the menu and must be now looking for something sweeter to chew on.

Having spent months dining on the fat cat bankers and their apparently inhumane bonus', their appetite switched to a meatier shot at the politicians. It turned out they had eyes bigger than their belly. Expense scandals were akin to Iranian votes, coming from everywhere. The main course climaxed with the ruling party loosing seats in local and European elections, uproar in the House of Commons and rumors of public legend, Sir Alan Sugar running for Prime Minister. At one point the actual Prime Minister (name withheld for legal reasons) looked shakier than usual.

Left chewing on the last remnants of the political scandals, the hard done by publics plate is near empty. So what is for desert?

Some bankers have been tip toeing back to the old days with performance retaining payments (aka bonus') some not, the financial landscape is still reforming and for most will never be the same. The political scene has been squirming for diversions to avert the publics gnashing teeth. The Iraq war inquiry, tension with Iran and the massive hyping up of a Scotsman being the best we can offer against the rest of the world, of course I refer to Britain's Andy Murray (go Andy!). Neither of these can be tasted again in the public meal.

Maybe only one thing is left for desert. Could the public take a look at themselves to provide the sweet? Who else has to answer for a hand in the financial and political crisis that the world is in. It is not a solution to ignore the financial and political status but maybe if a meal is chewed in smaller pieces we can enjoy it more and not be left feeling bloated and sick.

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
