Scientists have discovered that the new Strokes album is in fact "minutely different" from their first effort ‘This is It'.

Extreme technologies were used to make the startling find about the post-punk rip-off merchants, which would otherwise be invisible to the naked human ear.

Chief Soundmeister on the project was Professor von Skeletor, who said "I played the CD at full volume and listened to it through an infra-red satellite dish. I can confirm that the only difference between this album and the last one was the conservative use of a Casio MX-5575 keyboard."

The wild experimentalism of the band draws comparisons with Dylan going electric, and the subsequent alienation of much of his fan-base. A Strokes fan said "THERE IS NO PLACE FOR KEYBOARDS IN DERIVATIVE POST-PUNK INHERITANCE POP!"

The band, however, denied they were doing anything new.

The story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
