Clarence House tonight issued an emphatic statement rubbishing media claims that Prince Harry is dating blonde US Gossip Girl TV star Blake Lively.
Cynics claim that the rumours were deliberately circulated by Blake Lively's PR gurus in an attempt to deflect attention from the nude photograph storm which has been raging for days now.
Despite claims from Lively's people, the hacker who initially released the nude pics was sticking to his guns and insisting that the leaked photos were genuine.
Ms Lively, a former girlfriend of Titanic drowning victim Leo DiCaprio thrives on her clean cut image, and according to insiders, talk of a liaison with Prince Harry would be an ideal way of deflecting the limelight from the nude photo issue.
The Clarence House spokesperson told Skoob Entertainment News supremo Buffty Ginslinger:
"These are obviously just rumours. Prince Harry hasn't been out with Ms Blake Lively, and has no plans to do so. These people make this stuff up as they go along. They should get proper jobs, like working down a coal mine with a pick axe, or welding in a shipyard or something. Making stupid stories up about airhead celebrities for a living is just not cricket. They ought to be ashamed of themselves. Have you got any nude photos of Blake Lively, by the way? Only my DVD player is on the blink and the wife's changed the password on my laptop..."
Blake Lively was unavailable for comment, but Liam Gallagher out of Oasis promised to lump a paparazzi or two, providing they weren't "really big lads, like."
