Channel 4 has axed Fern Britton's teatime chat show after just one series.
The series was Fern's first effort since she quit This Morning which became famous for her giggly relationship with co-presenter Phil Schofield.
But the new show never achieved the hoped-for viewing figures and failed to compete with the 1.2 million enjoyed by Australian soap Neighbours on Channel 5.
The show's end was welcomed by TV Repair Man, the shadowy organisation pledged to ridding the daytime schedules of repetitive makeover and quiz shows and the end of "reality TV."
A communiqué emailed to EIF News & Features said: "TV Repair Man welcomes the closure of Ms Britton's chat show Fern.
"This organisation could discern no requirement for a further daytime programme featuring banal questions posed to celebrities with a show or book or record to promote.
"We made our concerns known to the producers and we are pleased they have chosen not to provoke TV Repair Man into direct action.
"However, suggestions that C4 may be in talks with soi-disant comedian Frankie Boyle are disturbing. TV Repair Man warns that Boyle will not be a welcome addition to the schedules."
